Haftarah Class

What other stories of annunciations and miracle births do we find in the Tanach? Where do we find a use of humor, rare in the Tanach? How does this Haftarah relate to the Nazarite vow section of the Parshah? What is the follow up to the Haftarah?

No knowledge of Hebrew or Jewish texts is required. Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or level of knowledge.

Each class is devoted to the study of a specific Haftarah. Themes considered include the historical background  and character of the Prophet who authored the Haftarah ; the historical context of the Haftorah; the structure and theme of the Haftarah; how the Haftarah relates to the holiday or Torah portion with which that Haftarah is associated; and what other portions of the Tanach , Jewish classics, or outside literary sources might illuminate that Haftarah.
