Does King Saul deserve to be stripped of the kingship? Why do we read this Haftarah on the Shabbat before Purim? Who or what is Amalek? Why is Amalek singled out for special opprobrium? Does this Haftarah have any bearing on our understanding of such atrocities as the Holocaust or October 7, 2023?
