Haftarah Class - New Date & Time

The class will study the Haftarah which is read on the closest Shabbat following the class. This year’s class will follow the general format of prior years’ classes. The class involves detailed discussion and textual analysis of each of the Haftarot described in English but with occasional reference to the Hebrew .

January 9, 2024 - HAFTARAH FOR VA-ERA- EZEKIEL 28:25-29:21, Etz Hayim p. 369. Who was Ezekiel? What was the political background of this Haftarah? How does this Haftarah operate in both its present and past and as a harbinger of future redemption? What metaphors and images does the prophet use?
