Seaside Jewish Community (SJC) supports and fosters Jewish identity by sponsoring religious, cultural, social and educational activities for its members. We welcome all people willing to support these principles in the spirit and joy of communal life.  We are an open community- welcoming people of all national origins and races- young, old, gay, straight, married, single, firmly rooted Jewishly or new seekers.

Seaside Jewish Community brought together, in the mid 1990’s, a group of people who wished to share a Passover Seder. It has since grown into a congregation which serves as the only organized Jewish presence in Sussex County and includes the provision of religious school training to an increasing number of children. Membership is composed of those who live in the County and those who vacation here. We welcome their attendance and participation.

We actively participate in the larger Sussex community, seeing the pursuit of social justice as a universal obligation and a primary expression of Jewish life. Both our membership and values reflect a commitment to justice, peace, and compassion for all peoples.
