MARCH 30, 2023 - What Kind of Wickedness Can Lead to Divine Destruction So Intensive That The First Patriarch Could Not Forstall It? -The Fiery Fate of Sodom and Gomorrah. GENESIS 18: 20- 19:12 (Etz Hayim pp. 102-106.
What were the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah? What qualified these cities for this special opprobrium? What was Abraham’s role here? When Abraham became the first ever Jewish defense lawyer and defended Sodom and Gomorrah, was the Court rigged against him? What did the residents of Sodom and Gomorrah do to demonstrate they may have deserved what happened? Is there any way to explain or justify Lot offering his daughters? Is the Sodom and Gomorrah story the mirror image of the contemplated fate of Nineveh in the Book of Jonah?
