This Zoom session will be hosted by the Lewes Public Library featuring the author Rebecca E. Bender.  Registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link.

Her family saga, written with the help of her father Kenneth, has won the Religion & Philosophy category from the Midwest Independent Publishers Association and the First Place in the international competition of the Independent Press Award for Judaism.  The Benders, unlike the majority of Ukrainian Jews who stayed in urban areas, settled in South Dakota where they could own their own farm. Only approximately 400 Jewish homesteaders chose this rural life in the early 1900s.  Rebecca’s father, Kenneth, provides some of the most compelling stories about life on the prairie and his military service in WWII. Susan Aaronson will be the interviewer for this event.
