Seaside Jewish Community is about community

Seaside Jewish Community strives to develop constructive relationships with the greater Jewish and non-Jewish community. We are active in the communities in which we live - Sussex County in Delaware and the greater Jewish Community of Delaware. To get involved, contact our Chesed/Community Service Committee chairs. Their names and contact information are listed in our newsletter under About Us > Newsletter.

Our religious leader is our representative on the Rehoboth Beach-Lewes PIA (Progressive Interfaith Alliance). We participate with other faith communities to develop joint programming

Donations to Others

Each year, working with our Board of Directors, the Community Services Committee identifies community non-profit organizations for SJC to support with a monetary donation.

Food & Clothing Donations

The Community Service Committee collects food and clothing for the poor. Donations of food and clothing are collected at designated times during the year and are distributed to community organizations in need.

Mitzvah Day

Each year, SJC sponsors a Mitzvah Day project in conjunction with National Good Deeds Day to provide support to community organizations.

ISOP (International Student Outreach Program)

Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, SJC partners with our neighbor, Epworth United Methodist Church, to provide a once-a-week dinner for students in the ISOP program. SJC members volunteer to staff the dinner, and provide desserts.

Soup Kitchen

Every sixth Sunday, SJC plans, cooks, and serves a meal for the hungry at Epworth United Methodist Church.
