Tikkun Olam Shabbat: Jewish Support of Refugees

The Worship Committee and the Social Justice Committee are co-sponsoring this special Shabbat event in recognition of “Refugee Shabbat.” Mark Hetfield, President of HIAS (originally the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) will speak to us about HIAS’ historic role in facilitating Jewish immigration to the United States and its contemporary ongoing support of refugees and asylum seekers in this country and around the world – a mission complicated by recent anti-immigration campaigns in America. 

The Oneg will be sponsored by the Worship and Social Justice Committees.
