Board Member Responsibilities - March 17, 2013

Since we are a volunteer organization, and we want to encourage our membership to continue to be volunteers as well, it behooves board members to be volunteers and actively seen in the organization. To this end, the board has approved a "Responsibilities of Board Members" Statement. These responsibilities are in addition to those outlined in the bylaws.

Board Members are responsible for the following:
1. Signing up as a Kiddush/Oneg sponsor and promoting to others
2. Signing up as an open/closer for services and functions needed. The board should be covering most of these.
3. Encouraged to be present at worship services and to attend adult education, youth education and social events as well.
4. Attending the following events are assumed: a. Annual Meeting - Third Sunday in November; b. Board Shabbat Service - Third Saturday in December; c. New Member Shabbat(s) - Including the third Saturday in April; and d. Pizza in the Hut - Annual Sukkot service.
5. Being active on at least one committee.
6. Upholding the following Board Member Pledge: I accept the honor and the responsibility conferred upon me. I pledge to serve our congregation to the best of my ability, and to uphold its sacred values with dignity and integrity. I pledge my time and my energy to its needs and goals, and I will attempt to service with vigor and to lead with humility. I will strive to act in a manner which will bring honor to us all.
7. Keep confidential matters confidential.

Articles Of General Interest in Newsletter - May 19, 2013

Articles "Of General Interest" could be published in the newsletter provided that such articles were about another event or activity that has been brought to the attention of a SJC committee by an SJC member who would like to know if others in our congregation might be similarly interested. Only a few of these expressions of interest would be allowed per monthly newsletter, articles will be general and not for gain or to appeal to specific groups of people only, and articles must go through and be approved by the appropriate committee first before being sent to the Newsletter Editor for inclusion in the newsletter. The Newsletter Editor may edit and revise the article as needed. All Newsletter articles are subject to review by the President or Vice President.

Reimbursement Policy - January 1, 2019

Seaside Treasurer asks that anyone requesting a reimbursement for Seaside expenses use the attached reimbursement form. The form should be submitted with copies of the receipts to the committee chair who should approve and send to the PO Box for payment. Please submit all requests within 30 days of incurring the expense on Seaside's behalf and allow 30 days from submission for payment to be sent.

SJC Media Relations Policy - May 10, 2021

The Media Relations Policy supports Seaside Jewish Community's mission, policies, and practices in a positive, consistent and credible manner. It establishes protocols for how Seaside representatives interact with media on behalf of Seaside. This includes responding to media inquiries and sharing information about Seaside Jewish Community through interviews, news releases to media outlets, and social media.

2022 Worship Service Style and Schedule - July 1, 2021

Over the coming year, Seaside will be rolling out a new Shabbat Worship Plan: 1) Shabbat Services will alternate between Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. 2) When our full-time rabbi is hired, she/he will lead most Shabbat services. 3) We will provide Worship Services in different styles and with a variety of content. Each Service will be publicized with the style and content (examples: primarily in English, or contemplative style, or musical, etc.)
