Details about the Capital Campaign

Q. What is the Capital Campaign?
A. Seaside has launched a capital fundraising campaign, "Building Our Future," to enable us to more than double the size of our existing home on Holland Glade Road. In the past two decades, SJC has grown from a handful of founders to become a valued center for spiritual, educational, and social programs for over 300 families, with projections for continued significant growth. The official launch of this fundraising effort was on Sunday, July 15, when members had an opportunity to view and comment on preliminary plans for the design of the expanded building.
Q. How much is it going to cost?
A. While we do not yet have final figures for the construction, we expect the cost of the project to be about $650,000 to $700,000. Seaside has allocated $250,000 toward the expansion from our reserve funds, and early contributors to the campaign have already pledged approximately $200,000. The remainder is up to the rest of us.
Q. How can I contribute?
A. Capital Campaign packets were mailed to members. This is your opportunity to become an architect of SJC's future. The campaign committee includes Marilyn Feldman as chair, Mat Ash, Marsha Davis, David Herschler, Jeff Rosen, and Miriam Zadek. Q. Where can I send a donation?
A. All mail must go to P.O. Box 1472, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Any mail sent to Holland Glade Road will be returned.
Q. What denomination is Seaside?
A. Seaside Jewish Community is unaffiliated.
Q. Are membership and other contributions tax-deductible?
A. Yes. Seaide Jewish Community is a 501(c)(3) "church" according to IRS guidelines. Please see your tax advisor for details.
