Seaside Jewish Community Religious School

The Seaside Jewish Community Religious School was established in 2004 in response to the growing need of the Jewish community in Sussex County. We are dedicated to providing students with a warm, creative environment and a strong educational foundation. In doing so, we strive to create in our children a positive Jewish identity with the skills and ethics necessary to become responsible, knowledgeable and motivated members of the Jewish community.

Curriculum:  Our students learn abut all facets of Judaism- from the Alef Class beginning to learn the Hebrew alefbet, Jewish values, history, Bible study and holidays to events of the Jewish life cycle, community, and preparing for B’nai Mitzvot. The difficult issues of peer pressure, ethics and morality are addressed in the Confirmation class after Bar or Bat Mitzvah has been completed. Art, music and Israeli dance are also included in the curriculum to enhance the learning process. There is always excitement in our children to learn new things about their Jewish heritage.

Since our school began in 2004, we have seen the many rewards of the dedication of our students and teachers. Our students have participated in services on many occasions. They have lead prayers, sang songs and read from the Torah. There have been three beautiful Bat Mitzvahs. We look forward to celebrating many more simchas with our students in the future.

There is always much excitement in our children to learn new things about their Jewish heritage. It is our hope that our students will arrive at a personal belief in G-d, coupled with a keen sense of Jewish consciousness, commitment and responsibility.
